Searching

To create you search enter the information into the main search bar at the top of the screen on the catalogue home page. You can modify your search by specifying the collection you wish to search from the drop down box in the right hand side of the screen. Once you have submitted your search query the system will return a results screen. From here you have a number of options. 

Refining your search

In the left hand side of the screen you are presented with a range of options to better refine your search results.
Availability - this provides you with the option to show only items that are available (not on loan)
Type – select items that are works or another format

Language- Language allows you to specify the language the work is composed in.
Date created – This menu option allows you to refine the date range based upon the publication date of the works displayed
Creator – this option allows you to control which creators are displayed in the results window
Names - this option allows you to refine the displayed works based upon personal featured in this listing
Topic – this option refines the listing based upon the type of subject the books is Time period – refine your search result based upon the time period the work is set in
Place – refine your search results based upon the geographic location of the works setting
Form / Genre - use this setting to refine your search based upon its genre
Public tag – use this option to refine your search based upon what tags have been applied by other readers.

 

 

If you wish to refine your search by adding additional search terms such as more title, author information then use the Options – refine results. This menu option appears above the search results on the left, just above the image of the book cover. Choosing this option opens a new search box which allows you to add new information to refine your result.
