In 2006 journalist Benjamin Mee, his wife Katherine and their two young children, moved into a run-down zoo on the edge of Dartmoor and found themselves responsible for 200 animals including tigers, lions, pumas, bears, a tapir and a wolf pack. But tragedy was to strike, for Katherine, again began to experience symptoms of a brain tumour. Ben found himself getting the zoo ready for re-opening, and at the same time having to care for his rapidly deteriorating wife, their children, and their ever-growing menagerie of animals. Benjamin's story is a remarkable tale about the power of family and the triumph of hope over tragedy.
